What I believeProverbs 18:2 HCSB Proverbs 18:13 NLTHere is an outline of my eschatology beliefs and a timeline of the rapture. As I have time I will go into more detail on all of these beliefs.
The below list is not yet exhaustive. As I have time, I will expand it, but it's a good start. Here is the Biblical timeline: 1) The Day of the Lord occurs on only "one day" (Zechariah 14:7). 2) The Day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night (Zechariah 14:7; Matthew 24:36, 39, 43, 50, 25:13; Luke 12:38-40; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2; 2 Peter 3:10; Revelation 16:15). 3) Christians are both watching and waiting for the Day of the Lord. (2 Peter 3:10). 4) At noon (presumably Israel time, when the sun is at its highest point), on the day before the Day of the Lord, the earth goes completely dark. Although in American terms, this would actually occur on the Day of the Lord, because 6PM doesn’t start a new day (Amos 8:9; Deuteronomy 28:29). 5) This Darkness occurs BEFORE the Day of the Lord begins (Ezekiel 32:7-8; Jeremiah 4:23-28; Zechariah 14:7; Zephaniah 1:15; Isaiah 13:9-10, 24:23; Joel 2:2, 10, 31, 3:15-16; Amos 5:18, 20, 8:9; Acts 2:20; Matthew 24:29; Revelation 6:12). 6) This sign of darkness is what Jesus identifies as the start of the Day of the Lord, which is when he returns in the clouds. (Matthew 24:29-30). 7) At 6pm, on the day that the earth goes dark, would start the Day of Lord. This is how days are counted in the Bible. 8) The heavens pass away, and the stars fall from the sky (Job 14:12; Isaiah 33:8-10, 34:4, 54:10; Matthew 24:29; 2 Peter 3:10, 12). 9) Sometime that evening (i.e., before dawn the next morning), "there will be light" from the "brightness of His coming" (Zechariah 14:7; 2 Thessalonians 2:8; Ephesians 5:14). 10.a) The rapture/ressurrection occurs and is vissible and bright (Acts 1:9-11). 11.b) ... This is the First Resurrection and the only Resurrection of the righteous. The Second Ressurection is the Resurrection of the wicked. (Revelation 20:5-6). 11.c) ... However, the resurection of the just and unjust do occur on the same day “at the end of the age.” (Daniel 12:1-2, 13; John 5:27-29, Matthew 13:49-50, 25:46; Acts 24:14-16; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12). 11.d) ... the first ressurection is the rapture (Matthew 13:24-30; Job 14:12-20; John 6:39-54, 11:24; 1 Corinthians 15:12-49; Matthew 24:29-30; Joel 3:15-16; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–5:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-8; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 3:12; Daniel 12:1-2, 13; Matthew 13:47-50; Acts 3:21; Revelation 7:9, 13-14, 14:1-5; Isaiah 27:13; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12) 11.e) ... which occurs on the Day of the Lord (Matthew 24:29-30; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2). 11.f) ... which is also called the Last Day (John 6:39-54, 11:24). 11) The rapture/resurrection allows us to leave the current earth and go to New Jerusalem which is made up of the new heaven and earth that "comes down out of heaven", to hide from God’s Judgment and the pouring out of His orge wrath (Isaiah 26:19-20; Job 14:12-20; Isaiah 27:13; Revelation 21:1-2). 12) After believers leave the earth, God pours out his Orge wrath ONLY on those who are left, which are all unbelievers. (Colossians 3:6; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12; Revelation 14:8-20). 13.a) Therefore, EVERYONE on the last day, the Day of the Lord, either receives the realization of their SALVATION or are destroyed by God’s Orge wrath and damned due to their unbelief. This contrast is made clear over and over again in the Bible (1 Corinthians 5:4-5; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12; 1 Peter 1:5-7; John 5:27-29; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Peter 1:5; Matthew 3:5-7). 14.b) ... The righteous are not judged by their actions, only whether they are true believers. It is said that they escape the fire of judgment. Their judgment is merely the receiving of Salvation. (1 Peter 1:5-7; James 5:7-10; Romans 2:5-11). 14.a) ALL remaining inhabitants on the earth who were not raptured are killed and destroyed. (Jeremiah 4:23-30; Zephaniah 1:18; Psalm 37:9-11; Isaiah 13:9, 12, 29:20-21; Deuteronomy 28:22-29). 15.b) ... they are destroyed by fire (Joel 2:3, 5, 30; Malachi 4:1-3; Hebrews 10:26-27; Isaiah 29:5-6; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12). 15) After everyone is killed, they take part in the resurrection of the wicked. (John 5:27-29). 15.a The wicked are judged, and this is called Judgment Day (2 Thessalonians 1:5-8, John 5:27-29). 16.b) ... the Judgment takes place on “the Last Day” (John 12:48). 16.c) ... the Day of Judgment occurs on the Day of the Lord (Matthew 13:49-50, 25:31-46; Acts 17:31; Romans 2:5-11; John 12:48; 2 Timothy 4:1; John 5:27-29; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12; Romans 14:10-13). 16.d) ... the judgment lasts for 1 literal hour (i.e., 60 minutes) (Revelation 3:10, 14:7, 18:19; 2 Peter 2:9). 16.e) ... this judgment destroys Babylon (Revelation 14:8). 16.f) ... description of those who are judged (Revelation 14:8-10) because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters." 8And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality." 16) The current earth is destroyed with fire and shaking/earthquake (Job 14:12-20; Isaiah 13:13, 24:19-21; Micah 1:3-4; Joel 1:19-20, 2:30, 3:16; Acts 2:19; Matthew 5:18, 24:29, 35; Mark 13:31; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-8; 2 Peter 3:10, 12; Hebrews 1:10-11; Jeremiah 4:23-30). 16.a Then will come a New Heaven and New Earth (2 Peter 3:10-13; Jeremiah 4:23-30). 17.b) ... the new earth includes the new heaven and is called New Jerusalem, which is a flat plain (Zechariah 14:10; Revelation 21:16-18; Genesis 28:12-22). 17.a) the Kingdom is set up on this new earth that comes down from heaven (Psalm 37:9-11; Matthew 5:5; Acts 3:21; Genesis 28:12-22). 17.b) ... in the Kingdom there will be: 17.c) ... no more destruction (Zechariah 14:11). 17.d) ... no more violence (2 Samuel 7:10-17). 17.e) ... no more death (1 Corinthians 15:50, 53-55; Luke 20:33-37; Isaiah 25:8-9; Hosea 13:14; 1 Corinthians 15:54-55; Isaiah 30:19, 35:10, 51:11, 65:18-19; Revelation 7:17, 21:4; Ezekiel 36:33-35; Genesis 2:16-17). 17.f) ... all inhabitants will be Israelites (Proverbs 10:29-30; Daniel 2:44; Zechariah 14:21; Joel 3:17; Luke 1:32-33). 17.g) ... a Kingdom with no end, which is never harmed or destroyed (Isaiah 9:7; Daniel 2:44; Luke 1:32-33; 2 Samuel 7:10-17; Ezekiel 36:33-35). 17.h) ... in this Kingdom Jesus sits on David’s throne (Isaiah 9:7; Luke 1:32-33; 2 Samuel 7:10-17). 17.i) ... in this Kingdom there will be perfect righteousness and sin will not be found in it (Isaiah 9:7, 35:8-9; Ezekiel 36:33-35; Revelation 21:27). 17.j) ... this Kingdom will be a return to the “Adamic,” “Garden of Eden” type state (Jeremiah 4:23-24, 33:11; Ezekiel 36:33-35).
